I'm restoring seatbelts for my 1966 late model corvette and wanted to know the correct ID Tag numbers/letters to print on the white cloth label of the seatbelts. here are the details: Yr: 1966 Production #: 16,950 Style/Trim tag reads: G18 66 467 450DN Body code: S5310 Built in "St Louis" From my calculation: I assume the car was finished off the line on Friday March 18, 1966, because this chart, www.corvette.net/tech-13a.htm has "G" for March under St Louis, and it stated the first of the three characters is a letter that represents the month it was built and the next two numbers represent the date. So, for the correct ID Tag to print on the belts, do I calculate the total weeks.... March 18th, 1966, would be the 11th week in 1966? Does that mean the seatbelt should state: Hamill 1966 Model # C-10 " 11-G-66" Thanks! and, yes, it's a lap belt, not a shoulder harness. I wish I were wrong.

So let's dig into this.
First, can you forward me the complete VIN and all of the tag information off of the Body Number Plate (located on the cross brace under the dashboard. This will allow me to verify the build dates of your car. I know you've probably already gone past this, but the last thing I want to do is proceed on providing you an answer and have some of my base information incorrect.
I will say that you are correct in your statement that the G18 stands for March 18, 1966. The 66 stands for the year - 1966. The 467 indicates it's a convertible (coupes were 437).
The question I need to verify is who manufactured your body/where was your car's body manufactured. According to GM literature, some 1966 Corvette bodys were apparently built by A.O. Smith. When you look at the Body Number Plate, the right side of the plate should have either an "A" followed by four digits, or an "S" followed by four digits. The "S" indicates St. Louis, the "A" indicates A.O. Smith.
If you can verify this, then we can go forward.
