Started my 2000 Corvette w/auto trans after 6 mo storage. Noticed trans fluid leaking. Was told this is common after storage with the Hydra-matic tranny. Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't heard of this being a common issue to date, but that doesn't mean anything. As with any high-performance machine, there are different stresses put on this type of transmission than one found in say, a Toyota Prius or a Hyundai Elantra. As such, it is important that you pay close attention to the health of your transmission by regularly checking both the fluid level in your transmission as well as the color of the transmission fluid itself.
It is recommended that the transmission fluid, filter and pan seal be replaced every 50,000 miles. If you haven't done this, you might consider draining the system, replacing the filter and seal, and buttoning it back up. You may have nothing more than a trans oil pan seal that's sprung a leak due to age or wear.
Please let me know how this turns out for you. Would love to learn what you discover in your own research. Good luck!
