I think the two issues are not related. An oil pan leak on a eleven year old car is not unheard of, especially around the oilpan - and while the mileage on the car is low, the car does have a few years behind it. What was the condition of the garage where the car was kept? Given the extreme low miles of the car, its possible that the gasket dry-rotted a little, causing the leak. It could also be that the car was driven hard in those 14k miles and the gasket, through the extremes of more aggressive driving, could have become brittle from dramatic changes in temperature...these are only theories based on what you shared. I would encourage you to contact the previous owner and ask if there was any engine work done, or if they'd ever noticed a leak at the oil pan. Fortunately, that's not a terribly difficult thing to repair in most cases, so it should be an easy (and fairly permanent) fix once the gasket is replaced. Regarding the traction service light, there were a number of service bulletins issued regarding this very issue on the 2004 Corvette. Visit our website by clicking here: 2004 Corvette Service Bulletins and you can reference the service bulletins when discussing this issue with your local mechanic. I would encourage you to contact a GM Dealership service department about this issue as they'll have the service bulletins and corresponding updates that will help identify and (hopefully) correct your problem. Good Luck and let us know how things turn out!
