I am looking at buying a 2000 C5 hard top, automatic, 127k miles. It needs some work done to it, tires, tierods, wheel bearing, other odds and ends. But i am concerned about the EBCM, I have heard these go bad in these cars. There are currently no lights on the dash for anything at all. But what i am curious about it is, how do i know if this one has the bad ECBM? Will this affect the driving of the vehicle? Can it be unplugged? I plan on making it a street/strip car. Any info will be appreciated!
