LEXINGTON, OHIO, August 6, 2011 - After qualifying fifth in the GT class for the 2011 running of the ALMS "Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge", Team Corvette Racing's No. 4 car (piloted by Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen) would score Corvette's third-straight runner-up finish after leading the GT category for the first two hours of the race. Their second place victory would come after the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge ended under a red flag. A torrential downpour flooded the race circuit with only 11 minutes remaining on the clock. Tommy Milner and Oliver Beretta, driving the No. 3 Compuware Corvette finished in sixth place after qualifying eighth for the race. The No. 3 of Corvette Racing was actually further up in the standings before a spin (the result of the treacherous road conditions) left them temporarily stranded. First place in the GT class went to Wolf Henzler and Bryan Sellers, drivers of the No. 17 Porsche 911 GT3, who advanced to the lead on the rain-soaked race track with just minutes left in the race.
