I can't open the locked drivers side door with my remote key fob. The key fob will, however, open the passanger side door. Any ideas as to where to get a replacement sensor? Please advise...Thanks!! P.S. I am a first time user of this site.

Hello Wade, Thanks for posting on the Corvsport.com Message Boards! We are sorry to hear that you are having problems with the door locks on your C5 Corvette. To start, it could be loose shielding around a wire in the wiring harness connector located at the door joint. However, if the door locks/unlocks when you use the internal switches (on the doors), this is probably not the case....but it's still worth looking. To re-state the question above though, what happens when you push the unlock button on the inside of the driver or passenger door? Does the driver side door unlock? If the driver side door does not unlock then the problem is probably the door lock actuator (P/N: 285068). You can find the left door actuator here www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000050c~Z5Z5Z532545~P229.00~~~~S3FD1A92TF74179207432a~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000050C Do your homework though before you purchase these actuators, as they are over $200.00 a piece. Also, something to consider...the component on the door lock control module that generally fails are the small relays mounted to the control board. If you are comfortable doing a repair on the control board, you can purchase the relays for under $2.00 a piece, and replace them yourself. It may get you back in business without having to replace the entire actuator assembly. You can get those relays here: parts.digikey.com/1/parts/747...sm1-12v-5.htmlYou might also look on YouTube and search for repair tips on the C5 Corvette door lock actuators....there are hundreds of "how-to" postings there, and I am certain that with a little digging, you can find one that relates to what you're experiencing. We hope this information is useful. Please write us back and let us know if this was helpful to you.

Thank you for the info...and I will reply as soon as I get this problem fixed....the drivers door does lock/unlock using the inside lock/unlock switch on the door handle. I think I'll be taking the door apart for additional testing. Hope to reply soon. Wade

OK...the problem is fixed...took a while so here it is. After buying a power door lock latch w/ actuater Left and installing it my door lock still did not work with either the key fob of door button....so I was able to buy a door & lock control interface module -left ( not cheep) from the local Chevy dealer and after installing that part everything works as good as new. I was able to return the first part to Mid-America. I hope this will help someone else. Wade 2003 50th anniv. w/AT

Thanks Wade for posting your fix. I am sure this will help many people with the same issue.
That is what this board is about. We want it to be a place where fellow Corvette owners can share their experiences.
Thanks again!
